Rockybowl 2011-2012 Charity Announced

Rocky Bowlers,

As this great year of bowl games ends, we as commissioners once again are excited to be able to donate over $500.00 to a charity.

We have chosen ALS (fighting Lou Gehrig Disease) as this year’s recipient.  Mike Gaidos one of our long time Rockybowler lost his wife in May to this disease.  Mike, from what we have been told and see from Sally's memorial website she was a wonderful and inspiring person, we all send our prayers and best wishes to you and your family. Get up and turn it on

As I looked at the Points Possible this next game between Pittsburgh is HUGE for the top 15 players.  So much will be decided on this game.  Even the toilet bowl maybe decided with this game.  We have players in the same house cheering for an overall 1st place (Kurt Schlicker) and another trying to stay out of last place (Vicki Schlicker).  We could have a repeat winner which has never happened, and of the top possible 5 place finishers only one can show ID to buy the commissioners a beer.  Curses  How every it works we can only guess at this point.  

The commissioners will have a few more comments on this years rockybowl but we want to make sure you all are still watching these last few games and cheering your picks to a win.

After a great weekend of football were we saw a hail mary, missed field goals, fumbles, interceptions and some great upsets we  still 6 games to go. 

Be sure to check out the possibilities for some of the leaders by checking our the tab at the bottom of the score sheet. PP=points possible.  The commissions predict this years rockybowl will go  down to the championship game to determine this years winner.  The championship game may also determine the toilet bowl winner with has not yet been determined.

Rockybowl Party was one of the BEST ever

Rockybowlers,

The wind never came, the rain never came; but great friends and bowlers were lined up to get in at 3 and some stayed till past midnight.  What a great time! Pictures can be found here.

The food was wonderful, Thanks again to Laura (my wife and the number one rockybowler) who worked from 6am to 2 am setting up , cooking, making drinks, making more drinks and just being the Wonderful host she is.

Brady and Brett Weisbeck, THANK YOU for once again providing over 40 shirts to the Rockybowl.  The Weisbeck's have been donating shirts to the Rockybowl for over 6 years, I can never understand the generosity we receive from so many bowlers.  Thank you both again for helping make the rockybowl party fun for all of us who were able to attend as well as the bowlers who will receive shirts who are out of town.

Thank you also to those who donate extra to the rockybowl party.  This helps as we try to improve what we do to make the bowl and bowl party more fun and entertaining.

With 362 days to go till the next rockybowl party the commissioners are planning how to even make this event larger and more entertaining. 

Thank you all for your help and your involvement.  We hope that our little effort has made watching some obscure football game more entertaining.

Need help to brine and rub my butt

Rockybowlers

I could use some help rubbing my butt tonight during the husky game.   If anyone has a large boiler I could use it as my butt will not fit into ours. 

I am told that my butt will be done once I rub course salt and other spices over it and will be a beautiful pink by the time the rockybowl party begins.
 
Let me know if your good at butt rubbing as Laura has told me she will not rub my butt. 

BTW  the main course tomorrow is shreaded pork butt

Rockybowl Party this Friday, Dec 30th

With 4 games this Friday the commissioners decided it was a perfect time to get you bowlers together to bitch, brag, drink, complain, smoke, taunt and EAT.  This is one of the highlights of the Rockybowl so if you are able to visit for an hour or spend the entire evening with us we would love to see you.

So we have some idea of how much food is needed could you please RSVP to rockybowl@live.com or leave your RSVP as a comment to this post by Wednesday. (Yes you may bring one guest per entry)  If you want to bring an appetizer you are welcome to but do know it is not necessary. 

We ask that you bring your own beverage  and if you have viewed pictures from the past you know much of the fun is outdoors enjoying the fire pit, gas heaters, food, cigars as well as the game.

Who will be wearing the yellow jersey for leading the bowlers????
Who will win the Bobby Breeze award at the end of the evening???
